The day that I met Josh was a turning point that changed my life. I have been working with him for about a year and a half so far and I have lost 50 lbs and 12% of my body fat. As a 50 year old woman, this has completely changed the composition of my body. But what’s more important than what I have lost is what I have gained…..strength, knowledge, confidence, happiness, acceptance of my own body, a brand new lease on life and an absolute love of strength training. Josh has been incredibly supportive and encouraging during this entire process while teaching me the proper techniques and form. He knows just how far to push me so that I can reach my goals and be the best version of myself that I can be. And on top of it all, we have FUN! Josh is hands down the best trainer that I have ever worked with.

Josh has been my trainer since September 2021. I went to Josh wanting to get and stay strong (in my over-50 body!), and was hoping to alleviate some of my aches and pains. Best decision I ever made! He listens to my concerns, honestly evaluates, and comes up with work-out strategies to address those issues. Josh’s understanding of anatomy is amazing and he places high value on form during exercise. With his knowledge and encouragement, I was able to continue my strength training while recovering from strains/sprains incurred on vacation, helping me heal much faster. Josh is always encouraging, understands what motivates me, and continues to help me reach and maintain my strength training goals. I feel stronger than I ever have and take pride in that.

Josh was my personal trainer for approximately 2 years -until I moved out of the area. Josh is a very thoughtful and hardworking individual. He helped develop exercises specifically for me due to my arthritis in my joints. Because of Josh creating these exercises, I am still able to work out without stressing the joints. I started training at S-Tier Strength five months ago and from the first time I met Val, I knew I would love training here. I really enjoy working out with Josh. He has helped to teach me good form while strength training. I have become stronger, leaner, and healthier. I have been training with Val for a while now but have been consistently training with her since January 2023. Since then I have seen major differences in appearance and strength. I really enjoy training with Val because she is so supportive and encouraging. Before training with her I did not like training upper body but she has found exercises that work for me and now I train upper body twice a week. With her positive energy, I look forward to working out and she always makes me feel welcomed and valued. Josh is very knowledgeable as a trainer, and life coach. I have worked with many trainers and have not ever met someone with his knowledge. He is an expert at isolating individual muscles. Josh can take a normal two hour workout and turn it into a forty five minute workout accomplishing twice as much. I train with Josh when ever I am in town.
My name is JoEllen Davis, but please call me Jody. I have been working
out with Josh for nearly 5 years. I continue to go to Josh, because I
trust him with my health. I've reached retirement years and have a few
medical issues. I was diagnosed with all the problems one faces when
being obese: diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. So, it
was no surprise that I needed new knees by the age of 60. I have
always been active, but my health issues were aging me faster than I
wanted to. Fast forward to my Medicare years, which allows for free
or low fee gym access. But that is when the shoulders had issues. And
I had no one to blame but myself for working out on good machines, but
I did not know what my body could tolerate. So, I asked for a personal
trainer's help. And that's when Josh started helping me. Since I
started working out with Josh, my knees and quads have become
stronger as well as more flexible. My shoulders will be okay because
Josh has motivated me to do my daily stretches. Josh knows just what
to say to keep me going. I have not been in better shape in the past 35
years, in weight or in overall strength. Josh has gotten me there by
doing his research and knowing motivating techniques. I would be
remiss if I did not mention Josh's personal touch. About a month ago,
I was telling Josh, I was struggling with food. He stopped our workout
sat across from me, looked me straight in the eyes and said, "What you
eat is the most important part of keeping healthy. You need to find
your "Why". Not only was I moved to tears, but I was also moved to do
something about it by going back to steps that help the most, like
writing down my choices and counting calories, My final proof that Josh
is the personal trainer who works for me, is that my two dearest
friends also workout with Josh.
I have been working with Josh for the past 6 months now and have seen significant strength gains, as well as, weight reduction. Working with him is great. He is attentive, informative and has developed an adequate training plan. I started with him as part of my recovery/rehabilitation from a heart attack. I was looking for someone who specifically works with “older” clients as I am 65 years old. He modifies his workup as he sees fit, based on my progress and abilities, as well as, takes into consideration my needs and limitations. He is very cautious with his training plan and constantly reiterates the proper form with each exercise in order to prevent injury. I had been looking for a personal trainer and I could not find one in the area that specialized in older clients. Fortunately I discovered Josh through a personal reference from another of his clients. I look forward to my 3 days per week workout, and seeing more strength and body contouring gains. He is also a friendly and motivating coach, and definitely NOT one of those task master/drill sergeant types. I would recommend him highly to anyone, but especially those that are in the older age category.
I never thought I’d be the type of person that considered working out the highlight of my day, till I started training with Josh. At first I was nervous, not knowing what to expect from a male trainer, but between his positive attitude and obvious fitness expertise, my reservations were quickly replaced with excitement to start his program. His gym is fully stocked with all the equipment you can need that you put to good use with the workout sessions that are customized for you. This is where his knowledge in the field really shines in how he designs each workout according to your fitness level, goals, including the exercises you like, to ensure your success while also having fun. I appreciated the direction, feedback, and tips he’d give to not only help maximize my performance, but so I could take that knowledge with me to apply wherever else I go. If you’re interested in becoming a stronger version of yourself or simply wanting to make a positive change in your life, I’d recommend meeting with Josh to help get started on a happier healthier you.
I have a spinal cord injury, specifically diagnosed as Adhesive Arachnoiditis. This is a difficult, rare and serious spinal fluid condition that is untreatable and causes neurological and inflammatory damage. My massage therapist referred me to Josh Rodrigues last October 2022. My leg muscles were atrophied. I remember my 2nd visit with Josh; I wore shorts because I wanted to introduce him to my legs. “Josh, meet my legs” I had no muscles, just tiny legs. On that visit, I was only able to do 3 squats. Six months later, I can do thirty squats with 5lb weights. Josh has not only given me back my strength, but has given me back confidence and my will and strength to live. Josh has educated himself with my disease and stays by my side from beginning to end of each routine he carefully creates for me. My name is Aimee Hamabata. I am 58 years old.
